JUNRO KATAS

Junro ( Jap. 顺路 , dt Route ) is a series of five Kata (stylized fighting against imaginary opponents) in the martial art Karate . The kata are relatively young and were of Tetsuhiko Asai created in order to learn the karate propagated by Asai Shotokan style to convey certain aspects of martial arts that are usually taught only in higher Kata, already at an earlier stage.

As the name Junro suggests this Katareihe, all the kata should be practiced on the way to black belt and beyond. It should not be about the Heian kata to be replaced, but they are also to be practiced and so equip the practitioner with other essential skills.
They are therefore among the basic kata of the propagated by Asai flow of Shotokan, and, for example, in the Nihon Karate Shoto Remmei from 5 Kyū successively demanded as a test component.

Based on the Junro-Kata created Asai five other Kata (see Joko kata) that build on the concepts of mediated Junro-Kata.
